Level A1

Beginner 1 Course

  • for beginners (students with no knowledge of Czech language or those with minimal knowledge who want to brush up on the very basics)
  • 16 two-hour lessons (=90 min)
  • materials: New Czech Step by Step (lessons 1 – 6), Čeština pro cizince (selected chapters), materials provided by the teacher

Beginner 2 Course

  • for students who passed the Beginner 1 course or those who can use grammatical gender, conjugation, the accusative singular; very limited vocabulary, e.g. able to introduce themselves, order food and drinks in restaurants etc.; able to communicate using very simple sentences in the present and past tenses
  • 16 two-hour lessons (=90 min)
  • materials: New Czech Step by Step (lessons 7-13), Čeština pro cizince (selected chapters), materials provided by the teacher

False Beginner Course

  • for those who have started to learn many times and those who understand but have difficulties expressing themselves correctly, creating sentences etc.
  • 16 two-hour lessons (=90 min)
  • materials: set at the first lesson; copies provided by the teacher, New Czech Step by Step

Level A2

Pre-Intermediate Course

  • for students who passed the Beginner 2 or False Beginner course or those with basic knowledge (e.g. simple sentences in the present, past and future tenses in everyday situations, active knowledge of perfect and imperfect verbs)
  • 16 two-hour lessons (=90 min)
  • materials: New Czech Step by Step (lessons 14-20), Čeština pro cizince (selected chapters), materials provided by the teacher

Level B1

Intermediate 1 Course

  • for students who passed the Pre-Intermediate course or those with good knowledge of Czech; students can use all the deflections and tenses, simple conditional, and imperative.
  • 16 two-hour lessons (=90 min)
  • materials: Česky krok za krokem 2, Čeština pro cizince (selected chapters), materials provided by the teacher, Čeština pro život

level with a big focus on working with texts and extending the vocabulary.

Upper Intermediate 1 Course

  • materials: Česky krok za krokem 2, Čeština pro cizince B2 (selected chapters), materials provided by the teacher, Czech belles-lettres (i.e. Jan Neruda’s short stories)
